Dr. Weston A. Price

Who was he?

Weston A. Price was a dentist and nutritionist who lived in the early 1900s. He became famous for his studies of traditional diets around the world and how they affected human health. Price discovered that traditional diets were much more nutrient-dense than modern diets, and that they played a key role in preventing chronic diseases.

Price was interested in understanding why modern diets were causing so many health problems. He hypothesized that the lack of nutrients in these diets was the root cause. To test his hypothesis, he embarked on a journey around the world to study the diets of traditional societies. What he found would rock the foundations of nutritional orthodoxy forever.

Price traveled to isolated regions in Africa, the Swiss Alps, the South Pacific, and other remote areas to study the diets of indigenous peoples. He found that these populations had extremely low rates of chronic diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes, despite not having access to modern medicine.

Price's research led him to conclude that traditional diets were much more nutrient-dense than modern diets. Traditional societies consumed nutrient-rich animal products like wild (pastured raised) meats, offal (organ meats) raw milk, and bone broth, as well as nutrient-dense plant foods like berries, vegetables, and grains that were properly prepared to maximize nutrient availability.

Price also discovered that traditional diets contained high levels of fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, and K2. These vitamins play a critical role in many aspects of human health, including bone health, immune function, and fertility.

Price's findings have had a significant impact on the field of nutrition. Today, the mainstream nutritional message of a low-fat, high-carb diet is finally being revealed for what it is - a tragic misunderstanding of the human body and its nutritional needs.
