FLOWER CARE
At Ridgemeade Farm we take great care to harvest flowers and foliage at the peak moment for the longest-lasting vase time. Part of what makes our bouquets so special is the unique blend of flowers and foliage that are grown here on our farm - varieties which the local flower shops and importers don’t have access to. Just as importantly, because our flowers are grown locally and not imported from overseas, they haven’t endured the passage of delivery time, changing environments, and rough handling. As a result, they will last exponentially longer in your vase. Still, some flowers will last longer than others in the vase and we highly recommend that you carefully follow our care instructions below to maximize their life and vibrancy.
We hope you will enjoy the organic nature of your flowers and can appreciate their ever-changing dynamics, from immaturity to post-bloom.
FLOWER CARE TIPS:
When you get your flowers home, give them a fresh cut before placing them in water (trim 1/2 - 1” from the bottom of each stem with kitchen or garden shears or sharp scissors)
Each Ridgemeade bouquet comes with a packet of flower food. Add to your vase as per the directions on the packet to provide valuable nutrients to the flowers;
The cooler your flowers are, the longer they will last - keep them out of direct sunlight.
Replacing the water in your vase together with daily together with a fresh trim from the bottom of each stem will help them to be most vibrant and will greatly increase their vase life. For bouquets, after several days, feel free to pull anything that doesn’t look “happy” and give your flowers a HARD cut (3-4 inches). Place them into a shorter vase, and voila! You have a whole new bouquet!
