Large, easy-to-prepare cloves with robust garlic flavor!

You will never see garlic like this at the grocery store… because we imported it ourselves form a wild foray in the Bagni d’Lucca region of Tuscany. We’ve been propagating what began as a half dozen choice bulbs in 2013 and now have more than 8,000 head annually.

Free shipping but a $2 packaging fee will be charged at check-out.

If you are a garlic lover but hate the thought of spending half of your cooking time peeling all those tiny cloves, then Honeymoon garlic is the type for you. With just 7 or 8 large cloves per bulb that are easy to peel, Honeymoon garlic is nothing short of a cook’s best friend. Our favorite way to eat it is to slice the top off the whole head, drench in olive oil and sea salt and roast in oven for 45 mintues on a sheet pan at 300F, covered with tinfoil or a cast iron pan.

Honeymoon Garlic offers a garlic flavor that is not acidic like cheap soft-neck imports from China (more than 80% of all garlic sold in the U.S. comes from China). Rather, it is mild, oniony and well balanced making it a favorite amongst chefs. A staple in the well cultivated pantry, Honeymoon Garlic is the perfect addition to sauces, soups, dips, pesto, marinades, stir-fries, rubs, and other recipes.

More about Honeymooon Garlic. While we know our garlic is Allium Sativum, because it was wild harvested we don’t nkow much more about it. We believe it is Sativum Ophioscorodon. This large, well-formed Italian porcelain garlic variety. At first glance, it’s easy to mistake Music garlic for elephant garlic but it is actually half the size and more flavorful. This garlic variety typically yields 7 or 8 large cloves per bulb wrapped in slightly purple inner skin with pure white wrappers over the bulb.

With easy-to-peel cloves, this garlic is ideal for the kitchen.
