Hardly domesticated, the Mangalitsa is a wild Hungarian breed brough the the United States in small quantities in the 1960s. These pigs are NOT commercial pigs that grow to 300lbs in 6 months. Instead, they take 15-18 months to mature, primarily eating what they can forage in our woodlands and pastures.
Mangalitsa pork has unparalleled marbling, rich flavor, and melt-in-your-mouth texture.
