Why buy a share?

Take a look at the photos below. The first two are of our small, local, family farm. The third and fourth are the industrial confinement farms where your grocery store buys its supply from, both roughly 1,000 miles away!

All animals, always pasture raised at Ridgemeade

Below you see two photos. The first is a typical feeding lot at CARGILL - these cows live on cement in harsh and unnatural confinement and are force-fed GMO corn, industrial food waste, and a heavy dose of steroids and antibiotics to stave off disease caused by standing immobile, in their own dung for 6 months.  95% of the country's meat supply comes from farms exactly like this.

In the second photo you see a typical TYSON confined Pig Feeding House.  These pigs never see the sky or earth and are force-fed GMO corn and industrial food waste as well as a heavy dose of antibiotics.  They are prevented from moving to maximize feed conversion into sellable meat weight. Their tails are snipped off because the stress of the environment causes them to become viciously cannibalistic and uncontrollably crazed.

Unlike Cargill and Tyson, surrounded by armed guards and barbed wire perimeter fences (no joke), Ridgemeade is 100% transparent and open to the public. We encourage you to visit the farm to see what ethical, regenerative farming really looks like.  Our animals live out on pasture, under the sun, eating grass, foraging in the woods, and happily expressing their nature.  We use NO pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, steroids, antibiotics, or drugs of any type, and we never restrain our animals.

If we wanted to become millionaires we wouldn't have chosen the restoration and stewardship of a historic farm.  Rather, at Ridgemeade, we care about the lives of our animals, the viability of our local ecosystems, and about building and educating our community about the vast superiority of regeneratively grown foods.  Sign up to our mailing list to join our community and be informed about upcoming farm festivals, dinners, events, and exclusive offers, and don't hesitate to schedule a Personalized Farm Tour!
